Shoppers are voicing their frustration following a change that caused products showing incorrect sizing.

The second-hand shopping app has revised its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments failing to inform all users about the change.

Online Platforms Response

Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification.

Vinted explained the new system was more in line with other platforms.

The platform has recommended to examine their items and manually change the size if necessary, which has left users frustrated.

Measurement Approach Updates

Earlier, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.

The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10.

With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

Shopper Accounts

Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".

"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.

Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22.

"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they may become frustrated," she explained.

Manual Updates

Another shopper, from Derby, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products".

"For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she stated.

Marketplace Information

The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK.

It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.

This represents another occasion when a surprising modification on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
