Making the Syrup: Combine the listed components in a saucepan, bring to a gentle boil, agitating to dissolve. Next, turn off the heat allowing it to cool completely. Transfer into an sterilised bottle, cap it and refrigerate it in the refrigerator, where it will keep for about a month.
For the Premix: Mix all the liquids into one sizeable container, leave to sit for one hour, then pass it through , ideally through muslin, making it perfectly clear.
For serving: Measure 85ml from the cocktail base to a mixing glass packed with ice, and agitate gently for about 60 seconds to chill. Filter into a chilled martini glass or a similar vessel, decorate with some cranberries and finish by giving it a brief mist of the essential oil over the top.
