19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player secured his initial title for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has had a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in specific - led to him exiting of the top ten and finally separating with former trainer Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's initial title after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface from spring of 2023.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one distinct events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," stated world number 14 the champion.

"This championship is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.

The player's retrieving play style and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had led commentators to wonder if his capacity to play at the highest level was finished.

However the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced service.

He recovered from a break down in the opening set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the last five games to gain the advantage.

The pair traded breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to create a decider.

The opponent saved 4 early break points in a close deciding set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to secure the win.

Suitably, Medvedev earned the win with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
