Intensive Moscow's Assaults Cut Power In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with disruption to drinking water, according to local authorities.

Meanwhile, a young boy was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has increased strikes on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, Europe and the major economies - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," he wrote in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen missiles targeted energy facilities, describing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.

A series of attacks struck energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the urban area endured heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child died and several individuals were hurt.

The assaults come after periods of aerial attacks in the region, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to detect.

Government officials told journalists that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already impacting fuel infrastructure.

He said utility staff and officials were anticipating further attacks.
