It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are all that remain for a side that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batters to possess a record if never given the chance.

Ultimately, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy being given a chance to create her newest gem.

Originally famous as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her bow and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

Whether this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Some will argue the reasoning behind final game tension. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was far harder to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this innings followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in training, it has been a disappointing period because it appeared I've had no rhythm completely," said Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts kick in and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the batsman was on her way.

"The possibility to play and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

When she was out her side needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the assurance to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if we do, we know we can succeed."

Those words will be the last rival teams at this tournament want to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this victory coming after success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wished she had played through the pain.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have postponed plans to retire, this World Cup is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as leader.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her last major obstacle.
